Blu-ray Review - Avengers: Endgame

As the highest grossing film of all-time, it would be an understatement to say that Avengers: Endgame made its mark on the global box office. Sure ticket prices change over time, but the fact that humans all over the world collectively spent $2.8 billion of their own money seeing this super hero saga in movie theaters tells us how important the film is to fans.

As the second half of a two-parter after one of Hollywood's most memorable cliffhangers, it's no surprise so many records were broken. Endgame does stand up well in multiple viewings so an investment into the blu-ray will make sense for many. The story works, the numerous characters - blipped and unblipped - mesh quite well together, and the villain is ever so imposing throughout.

On blu-ray, this title has a fair but not large amount of bonus content. Given the storyline of this epic blockbuster, it is understandable that Marvel added featurettes which each focus on the key characters of Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America. Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans have been wowing fans since 2008, 2010, and 2011 respectively and their contributions to the MCU are on full display here.

The Remembering Stan Lee video is also a must-see for long-time fans and adds to the blu-ray package. The Russo Brothers, critical architects of the latter parts of the MCU, also do an interview and the gag reel is fun to watch too. Fans will especially want to own Endgame and rewatch it in the future, especially if Oscar nominations come calling next year.
