Paramount's summer tentpole Star
Trek grossed $5.6M on Thursday capping off its first full week
in theaters with a stellar $104.6M cume. The figure includes seven days
plus preview grosses from last Thursday evening when the film began its
run early with 7pm shows. The gross yesterday was off only 3% from Wednesday.
Compared to the first full Thursday grosses of other May hits, Trek's figure was up a meaty 62% versus X-Men Origins: Wolverine from last week and up 5% compared to Iron Man from last May. Both of those films had bigger opening weekends. The Monday-to-Thursday mid-week tallies for the three films in their opening weeks stand at $25.4M for Trek, $24.5M for Iron Man, and $17.6M for Wolverine.
